Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material but will result in a lower chance of success.
Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building against an established location, such as the benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a very important element of the game, and it can improve an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for every stat. This could be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater your chance of getting a unique bonus.
The game also comes with several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending a lot of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be of various dimensions, contain none at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not improve the stats of the item when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to parity with their counterparts in their tiers. item upgrading Cases gg , for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button on their screen of their character. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
